Internet service provider Starlink is now available in Malaysia and its satellite broadband package is opened up to the public. The satellite broadband package is available at RM220 per month with no contract. The download speeds of up to 100Mbps.
But additional hardware needs to be purchased. The hardware includes an electronic phased antenna for ground mounting, a WiFi router and associated cables.
Starlink To Introduce Two Hardware Options
It is understood that Starlink will offer two hardware options, one of which is a standard hardware costing RM2,300 for residential users and everyday internet applications. The other hardware option is a high-performance hardware at RM11,613 for heavy users and enterprise applications.
Users can try out the service for 30 days and if they are not satisfied, they can return the hardware and get a full refund.
Starlink says its high-performance hardware has improved resistance to inclement weather, the ability to triple speeds in temperatures above 35 degrees Celsius and better visibility, especially in areas with unavoidable obstacles.
Users will also have to pay an additional RM100 for shipping and handling; delivery is expected to take one to two weeks.
