A woman shared on Facebook that because she wanted to lose weight and thought that Yong Tau Foo was not expensive, she ate it in a shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur. However, she was surprised that the total price of 2 bowls of Yong Tau Foo was RM94.20 when she was footing the bill.
The woman said she was not trying to discredit the business, but was just surprised by the high price.
The Yong Tau Foo Shop Did Put Up The Price Tag
The woman said she did not blame the seller because the store did put up the price tag. She only blamed herself for not paying attention to the price.
She said a big bowl of Yong Tau Foo at a night market only needs RM30, so she didn't expect two bowls at this shop need RM94.20.
She revealed that since the store is located in a shopping mall, she can understand that the prices of things there are higher, but she just did not expect them to be so high. Moreover, she went to the shopping mall purely because she wanted something to eat there.
