Marriott International has signed a hotel management agreement with SKS Group to open the Sheraton Hotel in Johor Bahru. It will have a total of 345 rooms. This will be the Sheraton brand’s first appearance in Johor Bahru.

Marriott’s first hotel with SKS Group was the Four Points by Sheraton, which was opened in 2021, and this will be the second hotel they have partnered on.

Most Of The Sheraton Hotels In The World Have Been Selected As 5-star

The Sheraton brand has attempted to maintain a high quality image with Sheraton hotels around the world, and most of the Sheraton hotels in the region have been selected as five-star hotels by local customs. Sheraton also has a secondary brand, which is Four Points by Sheraton, a four-star business hotel brand.

Shawn Hill, chief development officer of Marriott International Asia Pacific excluding China, said the Sheraton brand is designed to create a sense of belonging for guests from around the world, and that will include the upcoming Sheraton hotel in Johor Bahru.

Shawn Hill said Sheraton Johor Bahru is strategically located and highly accessible, and they aim to attract both business and leisure travelers and provide them with a signature community experience.

Sheraton Johor Bahru is expected to open in 2025 and hopes to leverage the brand’s roots to become a convergence point for travelers from around the world, as well as locals.

Simon Sim, Executive Director of SKS Group, said he is delighted to welcome the first Sheraton hotel in Johor Bahru and is confident that Sheraton Johor Bahru will be well received by the public.
