Justice Azhar Abdul Hamid sentenced Syed Saddiq to be convicted of abetting in criminal breach of trust, misappropriation of assets and money laundering. and sentenced him to seven years in jail, two strokes of the cane and a fine of 10 million ringgit. If he is unable to pay the fine, he will be jailed for four years instead.

The judge ordered that Saddiq's prison sentences on the conspiracy to commit breach of trust and misuse of funds charges would be served separately, while the remaining two money-laundering charges would be served concurrently. He also ordered Saddiq's immediate imprisonment, but later granted him a stay of execution pending his appeal.
