A former private secretary to Muhyiddin, Datuk Marzuki, wrote on Facebook that he was Muhyiddin's principal private secretary during his tenure as prime minister. The decision to spend RM38 million on the renovation of Seri Perdana during his tenure as prime minister was justified.
Seri Perdana Need A Major Renovation
Datuk Marzuki said the main problem at Seri Perdana was due to a leaking roof that caused damage to the ceiling, walls and floor. The kitchen appliances are also inoperable due to old electrical circuits, so the entire kitchen circuit needs to be replaced.
He also pointed out that the inventory records were confusing and it was impossible to identify the furniture owner in the residence. Najib had also filed a request to reclaim furniture at the residence that was claimed to be his personal property.
After Najib stepped down, there was no prime minister living in the residence. Since it has been unoccupied for some time, problems have arisen in the interior of the residence and the cost of repairs has increased. This is the reason why the Seri Perdana has to be renovated.
