The Premier League fixtures paused last week as a tribute to the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Premier League fixtures will resume this week. However, there will be 3 matches which will be postponed.
The 3 fixtures are Brighton v Crystal Palace, Chelsea v Liverpool and Manchester United v Leeds on Sunday. The 3 fixtures were postponed due to events surrounding The Queen’s funeral.
Premier League Resumes
According to the official statements released by the Premier League, Premier League decided to postpone the matches for safety reasons. Premier League has consulted with UK Football Policing unit and other police forces across the country.
It is decided that postponing the 3 matches is necessary after the extensive consultation with clubs, police, and Local Safety Advisory Groups. However, the new dates for the postponed matches have not been announced, and they will be announced in due course, according to the statement released by the Premier League.
