According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are interested in Benjamin Sesko, having been closely watching his development. However, the Red Devils are not currently in any form of advanced discussions with Red Bull Salzburg.
Who is Benjamin Sesko? What can Manchester United’s fans expect from him?
Fact #1: Benjamin Sesko’s Amazing Youth Career. He Can't Stop Scoring.
Benjamin Sesko reportedly scored 59 goals in 23 matches at Under-15s level. Sesko was then transferred to Salzburg in June 2019.
Sesko performed outstandingly once again as he scored 21 goals in just 29 matches in the Austrian Second League in 2020-21. In the 2021-22 season, Sesko scored 11 times and assisted 7 times in 37 appearances.
Fact #2: Benjamin Sesko’s Speed (He Runs As Fast As Erling Harland)
At 6ft 4in, Sesko is a towering presence. But this doesn’t affect his speed. Many have compared Sesko with Erling Haaland. Benjamin Sesko is confident in his ability and he is not pressured by such a comparison.
“Such comparisons motivate me and give me energy,” Sesko told reporters. “They do not represent pressure. I will listen and learn so I can be even better than he is.
“My teammates at the club tell me that Haaland and I are very similar, especially in terms of speed. Most of them even tell me that I'm better than him!”
Fact #3: Benjamin Sesko’s Agent, Elvis Basanovic
Despite Manchester United’s interest, Benjamin Sesko's agent, Elvis Basanovic, said that it may be better for the 19-year-old striker to continue his development at Salzburg.
“We had a lot of offers from really big clubs,” Basanovic told SPOX. “Had we decided on the money, Benjamin would have moved to England or Italy. “But we decided to look at the bigger picture and the Salzburg project. The biggest clubs in Europe tried to get him. The interest in him was huge; I have never seen anything like it before.
“Salzburg has given Benjamin a path. Here, he can develop. The people in charge really wanted him, which was important to us. Here he also has a greater chance of playing for the first team sooner or later.
Can Manchester United Sign Another Attacker?
Manchester United are expected to sign at least one attacker before the end of the transfer window. However, there is nothing ‘imminent or advanced' for the moment. Do you think that Benjamin Sesko’s amazing youth career is sufficient to show that he is capable of being one of the leading strikers in European football in the years to come?
