In an interview on BFM’s the Breakfast Grille, Khairy, who was expelled from UMNO, said that he would not appeal against his dismissal from UMNO because those who wanted him to leave UMNO were still in the party, and there was no point in appealing.
No Proper Procedure For Expelling Khairy
Khairy said his expulsion was not carried out according to the procedure. According to the procedure, the party must send a ‘letter of explanation' and allow the person to defend himself at the hearing, but the party leadership did not do so. Khairy was expelled from UMNO on 27th of this month.
Khairy said his criticism was not against UMNO's views, but against the party leadership. He did not want UMNO to lose the election but to restore the voters' confidence in UMNO.
He said he had received a lot of offers and invitations and needed to spend time thinking about his future path.
