Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) has conducted “Saman Ekor” operation to deal with speeding violations. All highways are included. Summon will be mailed to the homes of the offending vehicle owners. The operation aims to warn all road users to comply with the traffic rules and regulations in place.
Speed Cameras Will Be Used In The "Saman Ekor" Opt
In an interview, Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department director-general Datuk Mohd Nasir Riama said the department would use speed cameras in the “Saman Ekor” operation to record road users exceeding the speed limit. Violators are to be issued an RM300 fine
He also said that speeding is one of the main causes of road accidents in the country. Drivers lose control of their vehicles due to speeding and accidents occur. The authorities are also urging all road users to abide by the traffic rules and expect the public to cooperate in order to further enhance people's safety awareness to protect themselves and other road users.
