The Kuala Lumpur City Council (KLCC) has emphasized that the GoKL bus service will start collecting fares from foreigners in a phased manner, while locals will continue to travel free of charge but will have to register first. According to the council, the policy will be implemented in phases and users will be able to pay through QR codes, credit or debit cards and Touch ‘n Go.

Routes Mainly Involving GoKL Bus Services

The change involves four routes of the Go KL bus service, namely the Green (01), Purple (02), Red (03) and Blue (04) routes, where the council will start collecting fares from foreigners in phases.

Malaysian citizens are required to register with their MyKad  to ride the GoKL buses free of charge, while children aged 12 years and below can ride the buses for free
