Users on Facebook are currently experiencing a huge wave of spam posts and comments being funneled in from the pages of celebrities on the platform, according to various reports.

Meta spokesperson Alexandru Voica writes on twitter saying that “a configuration change caused some people to have trouble with their Facebook Feed. We resolved the issue as quickly as possible for everyone who was impacted, and we apologize for any inconvenience.”

Those on the Meta-owned social media platform have even started to take advantage of the current situation by sharing memes with others via celebrity pages, while others are going so far as to post links to their socials and personal websites for self-promotion.

Some people have even taken to Twitter to post about the buggy state of Facebook right now, raising concerns on the possibility of their accounts being hacked, with others posting memes to joke about the situation.

It appears that not everyone on Facebook has been affected by the issue. However, for those that have, the issue appears to be persisting on both the desktop and smartphone app versions of the social media platform.
