eMADANI's application was opened on the 4th of this month, and so far, there are still many netizens complaining on social media about their application got rejected.

The Ministry of Finance (MOF) posted a message on social media X (formerly known as Twitter) to clear up the confusion among the public. The department said that although many people have an annual income of less than RM100,000, the reason why they cannot apply for the RM100 e-cash is because they have not filed their 2022 e-tax returns and are therefore not eligible to apply.

The MOF said that the eMADANI program is aimed at encouraging people to make cashless payments, while the target groups are beneficiaries under the Compassionate Aid Grants Scheme and taxpayers. To determine eligibility, the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) will use tax returns for the year 2022 as a yardstick.

The Ministry of Finance also said that if a person meets the eligibility criteria but his/her application is still rejected, he/she can appeal through the e-wallet platform of his/her choice. If their application is still unsuccessful, they can call the Ministry's hotline at 03-8882-4565 / 03-8882-4566 to submit a further appeal, or send your full name and ID number to [email protected].
