Deputy Prime Minister Zahid said that DAP had assured UMNO that they would accept and abide by the four regulations given by the federal constitution, namely: Islam, Malay privilege, the national language, and the status of the royal family. He also said this is the key to why BN and PH have successfully formed a united government.
DAP agrees to comply with the powers granted by our federal constitution
Zahid said that before forming the unity government, the secretary general of DAP, Anthony Loke, agreed in a meeting between BN and PH to abide by the powers granted by our federal constitution, namely Islam, Malay privilege, the national language, and royal status.
He also said that he would not betray UMNO and BN and assured that he would continue to lead the party to move forward while upholding the rights and needs of the people.
