Based on the data MOH website, Malaysia reported 2,246 new confirmed Covid-19 cases yesterday (9th May), increasing of 93 cases in just one day. 5 of the cases were imported infections.

Selangor still listed on top with 1,160 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (261 cases), Penang (151 cases) and Negeri Sembilan (116 cases). The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Johor exceeded 3-digits, from 81 cases to 104 cases. All other states having 2-digits or 1-digit number of confirmed cases.

Based on COVIDNOW data, 94.9% (21,230) of confirmed cases were in home quarantine, 4.8% (1,065) were hospitalized, 0.2% (39) were ventilated in ICU, and 0.1% (30) were unventilated in ICU.

Over 940 thousand children in Malaysia now fully vaccinated against COVID-19

More than 940,000 children from age between 5 to 11 have been fully vaccinated with 2 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. Yet more than 1.56 million children completed at least one dose of the vaccine yesterday (9th May). Also, a total number of 22,644 doses of the vaccine were dispensed to children aged between  5 to 11.

For adolescents aged between 12 to 17, more than 2.89 million individuals have been fully vaccinated with 2 doses of Covid-19 vaccine, and over 2.99 million individuals just completed the first dose of the vaccine. A total number of 1,334 doses of the vaccine were dispensed to people aged between 12 to 17 years.
