Recently, Chile government urge workers from all sector to receive the fourth Covid-19 dose. And provide convenience for all workers to receive the vaccine.
Minister of Labor and Social Welfare Jeannette Jara said the Labor Code, established since 2021, has been amended to allow workers to get vaccinated working hours.
“It is very important for us to ensure that people receive the fourth booster dose. Also, workers are advised to notify their employers two days in advance to get a release permit,” she told at a press conference.
Vaccination centers across the country have extended their operating periods as Chile's Covid-19 cases rebound sharply.
Chile: Unvaccinated fourth booster vaccine will not be validated
Chile government announced it would not validate people's COVID-19 passports starting June 1 unless they had received their fourth dose. Passports are required to enter restaurants, bars and other public places.
Chile has so far accumulated more than 3.6 million infections, including nearly 56,000 deaths, and has completed 20.8 million booster doses of Covid-19 for people aged 3 and older.
Globally, the coronavirus has now infected more than 53.07 million victims in 228 countries and territories, with more than 630,000 deaths.
