Work more than 13 hours and eat 15 minutes

Yesterday, the man posted on the Facebook revealed his experience of working in Singapore, admitting that he felt cheated the day before he started work.

He said the car wash where he works is not only humid, but also harsh, so he only has 15 minutes to eat at most.

“We had to start 30 minutes earlier than the 8:30 a.m. start time, and the car wash was doing well. I worked 13 hours and 30 minutes a day without stopping.

At first, he said, he thought he would just bite the bullet, as he earns about S $1,800 a month (RM5,706) and can save more than RM5,000 a month with his employer providing food and lodging.

He also revealed in the post that he was busy at work every day, especially on Sunday, when he only drank water twice and went to the bathroom twice while working all day.

“I get scolded if I move too slowly, and I don't have much time to rest when I have meals.”

He said that although he wore gloves, he was still exposed to the irritation of car wash lotion and hot steam from tires. He often squatted up and felt his knees felt numb, and his elbows began to peel and itch.

The post quickly went viral, with more than 2K likes in just one night, sparking heated discussions among the whole nation! Netizens felt sad after reading it.

According to the law, employers are required to pay overtime if an employee works more than 45 hours a week. The man was advised to report the matter directly to Singapore's Ministry of Manpower

Some netizens believe that Singapore is a country under the rule of law, and employees can seek assistance if they encounter unreasonable treatment. Leaving aside the contract issue, it doesn't make sense to have employees just sleeping on the floor.

Some netizens left comments, asking the owner to take action before updating everyone on the progress.
