With the reopening of the country, my country's tourism industry has also ushered in favorable factors. The government's announcement of the implementation of tourism recovery assistance measures in this year's budget will undoubtedly bring greater incentives to the tourism industry and related industries, and is expected to accelerate the industry's recovery.

The Government, through the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, has allocated RM50 million to implement the Tourism, Arts and Culture Matching Grant Scheme (GPPSB) to keep tourism and cultural sector players who have been hit hard by Covid-19 in staying competitive.

When Minister of Culture Datuk Seri Nancy Nancy announced the matching grant earlier, he said that the ministry will allocate RM50 million to revitalize the tourism and cultural sectors that have been severely affected by the outbreak over the past two years.

She pointed out that this will also help relevant industry players to remain competitive, promote Malaysia as a safe tourist destination, and re-energize the country’s arts and cultural ecosystem, as well as re-establish the country’s position as a leading tourist destination in Asia.

Tourism – Tourism Sector Matching Grants

The Tourism, Arts and Culture Matching Grant Scheme is divided into Tourism Sector Matching Grant (GSSP) and Cultural Sector Matching Grant (GSSK), both of which are one-time grants

Applicants are required to submit proposals written in Chinese or English, and once approved, the acceptance letter or formal contract with mutually agreed terms and conditions will also be considered final, so there is no reasonable reason to change the date, Venue, programme/event concepts are not permitted.

The organizer of the project/event must ensure that the project event process follows and adheres to the standard code operating procedures established by the government, and guarantees that it will not be held in abusive circumstances. After the conclusion, a comprehensive report with pictures must be submitted, and if necessary, the applicant sponsor must also report the ratio of projects/activities or market research.

Applications for the Tourism Matching Grant and the Cultural Matching Grant are open. The deadlines are October 31 and August 31, respectively.

Applicants are required to mail a copy of the proposal and email a copy to the relevant unit. The outside of the envelope can be marked according to their type:
