In an interview with Free Malaysia Today, MUDA chairman Saddiq explained his criticism of the government. He insisted that he still supports the unity government despite his recent public criticism of it on several issues.
He emphasized that the government is an important part of building a mature democracy, and was also concerned about concerns over the unequal distribution of constituencies, the concentration of power, and the extension of contracts without parliamentary approval.
Saddiq Says He Has Responsibility To Speak Up For People
Saddiq said he did not withdraw his support for the unity government while raising the issue. He also said he had a responsibility to voice for his constituents to ensure that Malaysia becomes a developed country. And said what was said was constructive criticism related to policy solutions.
He was also asked if MUDA candidates had been instructed not to speak out on any topic. He revealed that the party's nominees had been told not to touch on extreme racial or religious policies or defamation of character.
