Carlsberg has announced that it will not renew its exclusive distribution agreement with the Asahi beer brand. The existing exclusive distribution agreement will end at the end of the year.

Carlsberg has reported to the Bursa Malaysia Exchange and sent a statement that both parties have agreed not to renew the agreement and to distribute Asahi beer or the trademark exclusively in Malaysia.

Both parties have enjoyed the cooperation in the past and Carlsberg has the exclusive rights to manufacture, sell and distribute the brand Asahi Super Dry in Malaysia for more than 10 years. They have mutually agreed not to renew. Carlsberg will continue to give support for the remaining time.

Carlsberg will continue to drive its premiumization strategy and look for opportunities to expand its portfolio of premium products in order to provide the best drinking experience to local consumers.
