MCACA Culture Camp 2.0 “Nyonya Style” came to a successful conclusion. The purpose of this camp aimed to promote the culture of Nyonya and give the public a chance to get to know this unique culture of the Nyonya culture up close.
Tok Panjang Is The Highlight Of MCACA Culture Camp
The highlight of the camp was the Tok Panjang, an outdoor Nyonya cultural banquet for 100 people at the opening ceremony, where campers and VIPs enjoyed Nyonya dishes and pastries together.
In addition to the food, there was also an exciting performance of traditional Balinese Nyonya dances. The long-table banquet is a special culture of Malacca's Nyonya, where the wealthy family would invite their friends and relatives to enjoy the sumptuous Nyonya dishes on special festive occasions.
The participants of this Cultural Camp are aged between 13 and 21. The organizers set up various games for them to learn more about the customs, traditional handicrafts and food of Nyonya. It is believed that these campers learned a lot from the experience.
