The former UMNO treasurer, Tengku Adnan, produced letters to support his claim that former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad had asked him to leave UMNO to assist him when he was prime minister during the period of Pakatan Harapan.
Tengku Adnan pointed out that Tun Mahathir was elected as a puppet Prime Minister when Pakatan Harapan was in power for 22 months, and he had to asked him for help. Tengku Adnan said that Tun Mahathir said he could not be on the same side as the cabinet and asked him to leave UMNO to help him.
Tengku Adnan Don't Want To Betray UMNO
Tengku Adnan refused Mahathir's request and said he did not want to betray UMNO. This is because his grandparents were in UMNO, which has given the nation a stable government.
He also said that many young people would vote for the first time in the coming elections, and he encouraged parents to explain to their children why they should vote for UMNO. On the other hand, Tengku Adnan said that he was charged in court because of Mahathir. He was brought to court because he refused to leave UMNO when Mahathir led the Pakatan Harapan government.
