Smith

On the big screen, Will Smith has valiantly battled zombies, aliens, and wayward robots.

But a tarantula? within his home? Disregard it.

Nearly five months after slapping Chris Rock onstage at the Academy Awards and receiving a 10-year ban, the seasoned actor finally returned to social media over the weekend.

The Oscar winner and his oldest son, Trey, can be seen carefully attempting to remove a tarantula from their home in his most recent Instagram and TikTok video.

“Posting this from a Holiday Inn,” Smith humorously captioned the video, which has received more than 930,000 likes on Instagram and 4.5 million views on TikTok since Saturday.

What the hell? Smith can be heard saying in the one-minute footage. Trey calls the fuzzy spider he is shooting a tarantula and says, “That is a big ass spider.

Later, Smith explains to the camera that he is standing “up on the chair” to keep away from the spider before ordering his son, 29, “You need get that out of here.”

Trey looks at him in disbelief, and Smith quips, “Come on, you're young and strong. A bite won't hurt you.

Finally, Smith screams as she slides a piece of paper between the eight-legged thing and the wooden floor after Trey successfully traps the creepy crawly inside a glass jar.

Since the Oscars incident, which the King Richard actor apologised for while “condemning violence in all of its manifestations” back in April, the actor has been under fire.

With the exception of a single video in July where he addressed the problem in-depth and apologised once more, Smith has remained pretty silent online since then.

“My primary trauma is disappointing people. I detest disappointing people. He stated last month that it hurts.

I feel mentally and emotionally upset knowing that I didn't live up to people's expectations of me. I'm attempting to feel regretful without feeling self-conscious. I am aware of the confusion. I am aware of the shock. But I can assure you that I am utterly dedicated to spreading love, joy, and light throughout the world. LA Times/Tribune News Service

Trey remarks, “That's the biggest spider we've ever seen in our lives.”

Smith jokingly says, “We're selling the house.

The tarantula video comes a day after Smith tested the Instagram waters by sharing a clip of a baby gorilla poking an adult gorilla that swats at it with the caption, “Me trying to get back on social media.”
